King Knish is the only artisan food producer in the Bay Area dedicated to making the popular Eastern European snack food. Leaving no room for confusion with the stuff you may find in your grocer's freezer section, we not only bake our knish in small batches, but we’re also focused on taking homestyle recipes up several notches with creative culinary flair. Customers love our Classic Potato knish, but are always excitedly looking for less traditional options from the King Knish kitchen as well, like the Wasabi and Potato with Crystallized Ginger, Pastrami and Potato, or custom-designed knish recipes. No matter how creative and forward-thinking we get with our recipes, however, we always try to stay true to the “Old World” history and traditional techniques of making knish.

Established in 2012.

Chef Ramni Levy's unique knish creations are a reflection of his eclectic background in fashion, event planning and culinary curiosity.  Ramni moved to San Francisco in the late 1990s after stops in two other premier food cities, New Orleans and Manhattan.  He opened Bistro 1650, a small restaurant in the City's Richmond District.  Ramni successfully sold Bistro 1650 to move into catering which led him to found King Knish in October 2012, an "old world dish with a new world twist".

Hi, I am Andrew Cano, the summer 2021 intern for King Knish. During the following six week period, I will be proudly assisting Ramni with work that I believe will help the small business while learning skills related to a future career in tech and entrepreneurship at the same time. I will work on projects such as organizing an events page with local festivals in the San Francisco Bay Area. I as well will be working on the King Knish pandemic page that will feature COVID related information and interactive content for all, while boosting popularity by increasing public awareness around the website and incentivizing people to interact. In addition, I am grateful to have been given the opportunity to be King Knish’s summer 2021 intern through the program offered by JVS (Jewish Vocational Services) and SFMade (SF-based non profit focused on developing the local manufacturing sector). In the end, my summer will be a busy one, but with a mutual respect for each other and with all that we have learned from one another, I know that the both of us are going to have a truly wonderful experience.
